Recovery Residences are community-based shared living environments for individuals who have a common goal of maintaining and sustaining recovery from substance use disorder.
A Recovery Residence is not a clinical placement but is rather a voluntary choice that provides a physically and emotionally safe, secure, and supportive environment. It features a homelike environment with peer support, connecting individuals with resources and services in the community.
We are now accepting applications and expect to announce the first certified Recovery Residences available to the public in the next few months.
Participation is voluntary, not a clinical placement. Individuals may choose from a variety of recovery residence types or settings.
These settings offer a homelike environment for residents and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion for all applicants. No medical or clinical evaluation is required for admission.
Peer to peer support is a key feature towards the common goal of recovery. Residents can be linked to community recovery supports, employment, education, and treatment.

Residents show decreased substance use and reduced probability of returning to use.
Residents show lower rates of incarceration and of returning to criminal justice settings.
Residents show increased employment rates and earn higher wages.
