A breakdown of exam performance by category for the most recent Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), Credentialed Prevention Professional (CPP) and Credentialed Prevention Specialist (CPS) candidates.

To better prepare counselors for work in the field and improve performance on credentialing examinations, OASAS tracks, analyzes, and publishes general data regarding candidate performance in various test areas.

  • Total of New York State candidates: 155

    • Total first-time testing candidates: 131 with a pass rate of 86 %

    • Total candidates retaking the exam: 24 with a pass rate of 58 %

  • New York State pass rate: 82 %

  • International pass rate: 86 %
