This 30-hour combined on-line and classroom training originally developed by the Addiction Technology Transfer Center, will meet the thirty (30) hour Clinical Supervision training requirement for the Advanced Counselor and Master Counselor status, as referenced in the OASAS Substance Use Disorder Scope of Practice and this training recognizes the crucial role that Clinical Supervision holds as the cornerstone of performance improvement at both the program and client level.
Clinical Supervision, when properly implemented by competent Clinical Supervisors, improves client care, develops clinical skills, and improves the knowledge and professionalism of clinical personnel. It is also paramount in imparting and maintaining ethical standards in the addictions profession.
Please note: Part 1 (14-hour online training) is a prerequisite for this class. You will be required to upload a certificate of completion for Part 1 at the time of registration for this virtual training (Part 2). Each virtual class will be held weekly via Webex online five-days-a-week from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
This training meets established OASAS standards for Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC renewal), Credentialed Prevention Professional/Credentialed Prevention Specialist (CPP/CPS initial section 3 and renewal). There will be no tuition charge for this training.
The instructional design is composed of:
- Part 1: 14-hour on-line training (mandatory completion required prior to attending classroom training)
- Part 2: 16-hour on-line (asynchronous/live) virtual training
Who Should Attend
Clinical supervisors working in OASAS Certified programs will be given priority to attend this training.

Make sure you have completed the Clinical Supervision Foundations on-line (14 hour) prerequisite and have a certificate of completion ready to upload. Register for this training.
