In New York State, OASAS supports communities to end addiction and reduce or prevent substance misuse and problem gambling in youth, young adults, and families. Red Ribbon Week is celebrated annually from October 23-31. The week highlights the importance of living a drug-free life. During this time prevention providers, along with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will host and participate in various Red Ribbon events throughout the state.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to reduce the risk of prescription drug misuse by providing safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for misuse of medications.
