In-Person Training

This training was developed in response to a Justice Center 2018-2019 report that identified a higher incidence of sexual misconduct and boundary violation incidents at OASAS facilities. Training will review examples of the most egregious, boundary, and professional, ethical violations and explore factors that contributed to such violations. We will explore case examples of what happens to service recipients that are the victims of professional helpers that engage in this behavior, as well as discuss prevention and intervention strategies to address such occurrences.

Objectives

  • Explore contributing factors that lead to sexual misconduct.
  • Examine boundaries and ethical conduct.
  • Gain the ability to identify “red flags” and intervene.
  • Understand the need for reporting incidents of sexual misconduct.
