Those interested in joining the addiction services workforce may be interested in obtaining a professional credential. Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselors (CASAC), Credentialed Prevention Professional (CPP), Credentialed Prevention Specialist (CPS), Credentialed Problem Gambling Counselors (G), or a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CPRA) credentials qualify an individual for employment at any of the 1,700 OASAS-certified programs across New York State.

Continuous and Intermittent Recruitment
Civil Service Positions

We offer year round recruitment for Clinical Physicians, Medical Specialists, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatrists, and Addictions Counselors. Licensed Master Social Worker opportunities are available twice yearly, in January and June. Applications for Nurse Administrators and Addiction Programs Specialists are also accepted periodically.

The Department of Civil Service maintains minimum qualifications, exam schedules, fees, and salary information for these positions.

If you meet the minimum requirements for a position, download and complete an application. Unless otherwise specified in the listing, positions are for placement at one of 12 OASAS Addiction Treatment Centers (ATCs). With your application, include a list of all addiction treatment center locations you would like to submit for. Do not mail job applications to ATC locations.
