Mandatory Training for Federal Grant Recipients

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our provider network, OASAS is updating how we manage and monitor federal Substance Use Block Grant (SUBG) awards.

To help you navigate these updates smoothly, we are hosting a series of mandatory virtual training sessions. If your organization receives OASAS State Aid funding with an 013F designation, these changes apply to you and OASAS will be contacting you directly with dates and times for these sessions.

Below is a breakdown of what is changing and why it matters.

OASAS adheres to all applicable subaward and monitoring requirements governing the use of Substance Use Block Grant (SUBG) and other applicable federal grants. 

To enhance present policies and procedures, OASAS has implemented new risk assessments and sub-recipient monitoring consistent with Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, (2 CFR 200), Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards, commonly called Uniform Guidance (UG). 

Mandatory training will be provided virtually for all SUBG recipients related to the new policies and procedures. Attendance at this training is a condition of continued receipt of grant funding. Once notified of training dates and times, if a representative of your organization cannot attend, you must immediately contact your Regional Office representative to determine next steps.
