Naloxone training events will be offered statewide at 12 OASAS Addiction Treatment Centers. Training will be free and open to the public.
Legislation includes new programs and insurance reforms, measures to strengthen penalties on the distribution of illegal drugs, and support for enhanced public awareness campaigns.
The state also is providing agencies that send their officers to the trainings with supplies of naloxone at no cost.
State agencies partner to train officers in use of intranasal naloxone, provide medication at no cost to law enforcement agencies that send officers to training.
