Prevention Credentialing Fee Reimbursements
Get Reimbursed for Your Initial, Reinstatement, and Renewal Applications and Exams
Whether you're applying for a prevention credential for the first time or renewing an existing one, you may be eligible for reimbursement.
Fees for the Credentialed Prevention Professional (CPP) and Credentialed Prevention Specialist (CPS) applications, exams, renewals, and reinstatements can be reimbursed for qualifying applicants.
This program is designed to support professional development and strengthen the prevention workforce.
Eligibility
Individuals
- If you have paid prevention credentialing fees between October 1, 2025 and July 31, 2026.
Prevention Providers
- OASAS-certified or funded prevention provider agencies covering fees for their staff between January 1, 2026, and July 31, 2026.
How to Apply
- Contact your assigned Prevention Resource Center (PRC) for reimbursement application forms. Refer to the assignment list below.
- Complete and submit the application form to the relevant PRC.
- For individuals, send to your county’s assigned PRC.
- For providers, send to the PRC for your agency’s assigned county.
- PRCs will review and process submissions.
Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2026, for expenses paid during the eligible time periods noted above.

Under the “How to Apply" section, above, review the list of "Assigned Prevention Resource Centers" to determine your PRC point of contact based on your county’s assigned PRC.
If I paid for some of my fees while my agency paid for others, can I still be reimbursed?
Yes, if you and/or your agency paid for CPP/CPS application, exam, renewal, and reinstatement fees between October 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026. Please make your PRC point of contact aware of the specific fees for which a reimbursement check should be address to you or your agency.
If I started the credentialing process 1 to 5 years ago but didn’t complete it, can I continue?
If you previously began your CPP/CPS application, it remains active for five years from the date of the first initial review. To begin or continue the CPP/CPS credentialing process, visit the Credentialing Portal.
How do I start the credentialing process?
The first step in the credentialing process is the submission of a CPP/CPS Application to the Credentialing Unit. Visit the Credentialing Portal and select “Apply for Credential.”

Does my degree(s)/education count towards the CPP/CPS education and training requirements?
An Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's Degree in an approved Human Services field, or current coursework towards pursuing any of these degrees, may be claimed toward satisfying some or all of the CPP/CPS education and training requirements. To determine what coursework may be applicable, submit your college transcripts along with your credentialing application. Please note that credentialing applicants holding an eligible degree may qualify to substitute a portion of the required work experience.
Approved Human Services Degrees may satisfy portions of the CPP/CPS education and training requirements.
