Recovery Month: A Guide to Supportive Services

September is Recovery Month

As we wrap up Recovery Month, we take a closer look at the supportive services available across New York State.

We explore the power of peer support in the journey to recovery from substance use disorder and look at the exciting future of certified Recovery Residences. Additionally, we address the critical role recovery centers play in supporting individuals before, during, and after their recovery process.

The landscape of addiction recovery is continually evolving, with new initiatives and innovations enhancing the support available to individuals in recovery.

Feature Quote

"So, when you go around and visit a recovery center, what you'll see is it really reflects the community of people they're serving. Some have really unified around recreation and are very active and they'll do things like kayaking on the weekend. Others are much more focused on community service or outreach in the community, so it's really, they are very unique to the population they serve, they people who are coming to them."  -Acting Deputy Commissioner of Programs Patricia Lincourt
