About the Program
Produced by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports, Addiction: The Next Step, Opioid Settlements at Work takes viewers inside New York’s response to the opioid and overdose crisis.
For years, overdose deaths climbed at alarming rates across the state. Today, those numbers are beginning to decline in large part thanks to the strategic investment of opioid settlement dollars by OASAS.
The half hour special explores how hundreds of millions of dollars secured through national opioid settlements are being invested directly into communities. From prevention and harm reduction initiatives to treatment expansion and recovery supports, the program shows how these funds are being used strategically to save and rebuild lives.
